Rich Moore, president of Rich Moore, Inc., an independent consulting practice, has a career of experience in marketing and international expansion, particularly with emerging-growth technology companies. This has included the repackaging and repositioning of products and companies with a clearer value proposition, improving marketing program mix and expanding channels of distribution that can accelerate sales. Rich has had an emphasis on conversions of multiple companies from traditional one-time sale business models to annual recurring subscriptions, often referred to as "on demand" or "software-as-a-service" (SaaS).
Moore has held executive and company officer positions that include Chief Marketing Officer; Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications; President; and Vice President, International. Prior successes include VM Software, Systems Center, Roadshow International and Descartes Systems, and Cyveillance. During this time, he has directly supported multiple public offerings, mergers and exit strategies. Earlier in his career, he has held executive positions within the entertainment industry, including Caesars Hotel-Casinos in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
Rich Moore serves on the board of directors and audit committee for Vocus, a public company (Nasdaq: VOCS) offering on demand software for public relations management, as well as board affiliation with Noxilizer, a biotech company and Inserso, a provider of web application development.
Of note, Vocus has been listed by Forbes as #16 among "The Top 25 Fastest Growing Technology Companies in the US," with over 35 consecutive quarters of record growth.
John is the Richard C. Shipley Professor of Management and Faculty Director in the Information Systems Department at Boston University's School of Management. He also serves as the Director of the Systems Research Center at the School.
He authored, with Lloyd Baird, The Knowledge Engine: How to Create Fast Cycles of Knowledge-to-Performance and Performance-to-Knowledge (Berrett-Koehler, 2001) that explores how effective leaders leverage a firm's knowledge assets. A noted researcher, consultant, and executive educator, he has published in journals such as The Sloan Management Review, Human Resource Management, MIS Quarterly, and IBM Systems Journal.
The IBM Systems Journal selected his paper, Strategic Alignment of Business and I/T Strategies, as a "turning point" article and one of the most influential papers on Information Technology strategy published by the Journal since 1962. Prior to joining Boston University, John was a faculty member at the MIT Sloan School of Management.
John speaks frequently on a range of topics, including the Impact of the Mobile Internet on Markets and Organizations, Managing Strategic Partnerships, Aligning Business and IT Strategies, IT Partnerships and Knowledge Management.
John Estrada, former COO and co-founder of ServiceBench, has over 21 years of experience in corporate management of leading software application and development firms. Mr. Estrada has extensive experience in complex software design, including development, implementation, and support of both Internet and e-commerce systems. This experience sparked the launch of ServiceBench which now sets the standard for true end to end service channel support systems, improving both business processes and business intelligence for manufacturers and their service channel partners.
Mr. Estrada was CEO and founder of Sideout Technologies, Inc. which successfully developed customized Internet based software solutions for Fortune 500 companies. Prior to Sideout Technologies, Mr. Estrada led software development for DSR, a government contract firm and was instrumental in spurring rapid growth of the company from 3 to 150 people.
