Applications Engineer

Overview
The Applications Engineer works with the technology team developing software applications that meet client needs. Every aspect of software development, from working on the base architecture to testing, is included.

Job Description

Develop software using Adobe's ColdFusion programming language, including at least a basic knowledge of Java, and object oriented programming techniques
Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft SQL Server database software, including server maintenance, stored procedures and T-SQL scripts
Actively work with technology and business teams to develop solutions, including the ability to learn new technologies and apply them
Liaison with other departments and/or functional teams to understand detailed business requirements, as well as technical architecture of all products and services
Work cooperatively with multiple teams/functional areas to deliver products and services

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of developing with ColdFusion MX 6 or above, knowledge and experience of creating components (CFCs) is strongly preferred
Minimum 1 year experience working with T-SQL, including stored procedures, preferably with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and above
Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and Web site development techniques
Possess strong interpersonal skills, excellent troubleshooting and communication skills, and customer service focus
Create and maintain documentation for internal and external use
Must be able to think creatively in the development of ideas and solutions
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Ability to work independently, including the ability to research issues to provide possible solutions

Desired

Strong knowledge of Adobe ColdFusion
Skilled with T-SQL, including stored procedures and views
Good Understanding of HMTL, CSS, JavaScript
Some knowledge of server set-up and maintenance, including network configuration
Knowledge of jQuery a plus
