President & CEO
As president and founder, Stefan Midford brings over 25 years of experience in information technology and operations management. His extensive business background includes leadership roles at major credit, retail and marketing businesses in the U.S. and Canada, and assignments at Discover Financial Services, Sears Roebuck & Co., Sears Canada Inc. Most recently, as COO at Intersections Inc., Mr. Midford was responsible for the Operations Division of this rapidly growing company.
Mr. Midford's management experience gives him insight into the strategic challenges facing organizations with distributed workforces, as well as the specialized logistical issues that go with them. In addition, his leading-edge understanding of database design and optimization, business process improvement, and related disciplines allows him to quickly understand clients' needs and requirements—resulting in customized solutions that deliver bottom line results.
Vice President, Technical Services
For almost two decades, Paul Carney has provided organizations with innovative solutions to help them thrive. Combining best technical practices with management know-how, Mr. Carney has excelled in the fields of higher education, consulting and Internet-based services. He launched his first Internet business in 1997, and has since helped build additional Internet-based service organizations in both consumer and business environments.
Mr. Carney has earned numerous awards and certifications for his technical achievements and his first Internet-based product line was highlighted in the Wall Street Journal as a "Best Value." More recently, Mr. Carney oversaw the development of the Natural Insight solution, a robust resource for managing and optimizing distributed workforces.
Paul earned his Masters in Business Administration from The Sage Graduate School and studied at the University of Vermont where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics.
Vice President, Sales & Business Development
As the Vice President of Sales and Business Development, Steve Brown is responsible for the company's sales strategy and execution.
Mr. Brown joined Natural Insight following the successful launch and growth of Angel.com, a provider of SaaS enterprise solutions for on-demand call centers and Interactive Voice Response (IVR), where he was a founding member of the management team of the subsidiary of MicroStrategy, Inc. While at Angel.com, he initiated each critical service area within the company, including product development, professional services and sales. As vice president of sales and business development, he built the company's inside and field sales force, generating the first $5 million in recurring SaaS revenue. As Angel.com's vice president of client services, Mr. Brown introduced Enterprise 2.0 concepts and technology across the organization and built a professional services and support team that increased revenue contribution by five times in three years.
Prior to Angel.com, Mr. Brown led sales consulting for MicroStrategy in New York City, working with clients such as NBC, barnesandnoble.com, and Verizon, while growing the team from less than ten to over fifty technology professionals. Mr. Brown began his career at IBM Federal Systems, now a division of Lockheed Martin, where he led an internal research and development lab developing next-generation Navy combat and surveillance systems.
Steve holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, both from the University of Virginia.
Director of Operations
In the Director of Operations role John Soricelli manages the client services team as well as providing input on the platforms use and functionality.
Mr. Soricelli joined Natural Insight after spending 11 years with a Merchandising Service Organization. He brings an understanding of the MSO industry as well as a strong operations background. Most recently he held the position of Vice President, General Manager of REPS.
Prior to this he held positions in Operations, Field Management and in Account Management, Mr. Soricelli was part of the team that integrated two field organizations focusing on labor capacity management and field level performance measures and accountabilities.
This role allowed him to work extensively with both internal IT departments and third party providers to identify areas where technology could improve the service offering as well as offer greater efficiencies of field organizations.
