New Column for Require Decline Reason? Added to Opportunity Creation and Update Process via Spreadsheet

Please be advised that the spreadsheets on the following pages used to create and/or update assignments will change:

1. Assignment Import (PID=217) - accessed from the Project Dashboard
2. Add Project Assignment (PID=858) - accessed from the PROJECTS menu
3. Update Project Assignment (PID=1155) - accessed from the PROJECTS menu

When you create or update opportunities via spreadsheet, you have the ability to indicate whether each opportunity should require a Decline Reason or not.

Your account has a Configuration Setting in the Project folder called Default Opportunities Decline Reason.

If the Default Opportunities Decline Reason checkbox is checked, this means that, whenever a staff member declines an opportunity in your Natural Insight instance, the staff person will be required to provide a reason (from the options listed on the Assignment Decline/Unassign Reason page) why he/she is declining the opportunity.

If the Default Opportunities Decline Reason checkbox is not checked, this means that, whenever a staff member declines an opportunity in your Natural Insight instance, no reason is required and the decline happens upon clicking Decline for the opportunity.

You can override the account-wide Default Opportunities Decline Reason Configuration Setting on a one-off basis per individual opportunity. You do this by specifying the Require Decline Reason? for the individual assignment (from which the opportunity emanates).

CHANGE IN SPREADSHEET FORMAT - ADDITION OF NEW COLUMN

When you create opportunities via spreadsheet from the following pages:

1. Assignment Import (PID=217)
2. Add Project Assignment (PID=858)
3. Update Project Assignment (PID=1155)

a new column named Require Decline Reason? exists to the right of the Opportunity Staff Number List column that allows you to override the account-wide Default Opportunities Decline Reason Configuration Setting per any individual assignment (and its corresponding opportunities).

If You Want an Opportunity Created via Spreadsheet to Inherit your Account's Default Opportunities Decline Reason Configuration Setting

If you wish for any opportunity you create or update via spreadsheet from the 3 pages listed above to inherit your account's Default Opportunities Decline Reason Configuration Setting, do not enter any value in the Require Decline Reason? column.

If You Want to Override the Account-Wide Default Opportunities Decline Reason Configuration Setting for an Individual Opportunity Created via Spreadsheet and Specify its Require Decline Reason? Setting

If you wish to override the account-wide Default Opportunities Decline Reason Configuration Setting for an individual opportunity created via spreadsheet and specify the opportunity's Require Decline Reason? setting, you will place in the Require Decline Reason? column the opposite value than the value flagged in the Default Opportunities Decline Reason Configuration Setting.

In this case, the opportunity created or updated will not inherit your account's Default Opportunities Decline Reason Configuration Setting value but instead use the value you have entered in the Require Decline Reason? column for this assignment.

Accepted Values of the Require Decline Reason? Column

• Yes or Y - Enter Yes or Y as a value in the Require Decline Reason? column to indicate that the opportunity or opportunities sent to the staff persons listed by Staff ID in the Opportunity Staff Number List column of the same row will require a Decline Reason when declined.
  
  
• No or N - Enter No or N as a value in the Require Decline Reason? column to indicate that the opportunity or opportunities sent to the staff persons listed by Staff ID in the Opportunity Staff Number List column of the same row will not require a Decline Reason when declined.

EXAMPLE:

If your account's Default Opportunities Decline Reason checkbox is checked in Configuration Settings, this means that, by default, any time a staff member declines an opportunity in your instance of Natural Insight, the staff member is required to provide a Decline Reason.

If you enter in the Assignment Import spreadsheet (PID=217) a row (i.e., an assignment) with Ann Appleman's Staff ID as the value (5003) in the Opportunity Staff Number List column and No as the value in the Require Decline Reason? column, the created assignment will send an opportunity to Ann Appleman, who will not be required to provide a Decline Reason if she declines the opportunity.
